KVM switches from G&D North America.

Switch to efficient workplaces in best quality

Make your workplace more efficient with KVM switches from G&D North America Inc. Our DisplayPort, DVI and VGA KVM switches are designed to operate 2 to 64 computers via one console consisting of keyboard, video and mouse.

The DVI KVM switches also transmit VGA video signals and enables you to work in mixed mode. This peripheral saving solution increases user-friendliness and ergonomics at your workplace. In addition, they often form the basis for setting up redundant systems in different control room applications.

The functionality of our KVM switches

Our KVM switches supports the following signals:

  • DisplayPort, Single- and dual-link DVI and VGA
  • Keyboard/mouse PS/2 and USB
  • Transparent USB 2.0
  • Audio

Some products even combine multiple signals. Our portfolio does not only include KVM switches transmitting keyboard, video, mouse and audio signals, but also offers multi-channel video switching, 4 × DVI/VGA, keyboard/mouse, USB 2.0, and audio signals.

Your advantages using our KVM switches

  • Operate multiple computers via one console
  • Work in a user-friendly and ergonomic environment
  • Have less peripherals at your desk
  • Early measuring, recording and detecting of a critical system status
  • Designed to fulfil all requirements in mission critical environments

KVM switches in the focus

What is a KVM switch?

A KVM switch is a keyboard video mouse switch. KVM switches are stand-alone devices. They can also be combined with our other KVM solutions. Many computers are connected to a KVM switch, which can then be operated via one workstation (monitor, keyboard, mouse and other peripheral devices).

The KVM switches thus make it possible to operate several computers with only one mouse, one keyboard and up to four screens. This periphery-saving solution increases user-friendliness and ergonomics at your workplace. In addition, they often form the basic for setting a redundant system in different control room applications.

How does a KVM switch work?

The computer will be connected on the back of the device. The computer interfaces for keyboard, mouse, audio and USB are connected to the switch via the non-interchangeable standard cables. The workstation connection is just as convenient. Simply connect the keyboard, mouse, speakers and USB devices to the corresponding interfaces. The supplied LED sets are attached to the monitors.

During operation, an illuminated LED indicates the monitor of the computer on which the keyboard/mouse focus is switched. The permanent emulation of keyboard and mouse signals on the “inactive” computers guarantees trouble-free operation. The settings are stored separately for each computer.

What do I need to consider when selecting a KVM switch?

The systems differ mainly in the number of computers to be connected and the type and resolution of the video interfaces (VGA, single link DVI, dual link DVI or DisplayPort).

To display workstations with two, three or four screens, our KVM switches are also available as multi-channel variants in addition to the single-channel variants.

How do I switch with a KVM switch?

Switching is done via keys on the KVM switch, hotkeys, the OSD or externally via the RS232 interface. Depending on the variant, you can switch and operate between two and 64 computers from one workstation.

The number of computers to be controlled can be increased by cascading the devices. Monitor, keyboard, mouse and other peripheral devices are connected directly to the KVM switch. LEDs or on-screen displays let you know which computer you are currently on.

How can I connect to several computers with several workstations?

Complex applications require the simultaneous work of several users and administrators on different computers. This requirement can be realized by our KVM matrix systems.
